YAY! My last scribe post.
Well , today's class we had a substitute teacher again. First thing we did was went over the sheet called the gravitational potential energy questions. After that we had 3 worksheets to grab. Two of those sheets are need to be done by Friday. Also, don't forget your presentations for tomorrow.
Thats it thats all back to some more chess.

First thing we did was we answered a transparency sheet. Second, we went over the space exploration booklet. Third, we had to answer the worksheet called the gravitational potential energy questions. Lastly, we had a fire drill and the class was dismissed there.

Today, Ms. K gave us back our catapult worksheets and inverse square law lab. Also, she showed us a couple of videos regarding our presentations for Thursday (May 1st). The video includes some tips on how to make an effective presentation. Ms. K needed to leave for a department meeting so we had a substitute teacher for the rest of the class. She told us to work on questions 1-5 on page 172 , located at the green booklet. The questions need to be handed in yesterday for MARKS. The rest of the class was devoted on finishing those questions up.

yay my last post!
We had a sub on Friday. He gave us a few minutes to finish up worksheets. After we went over the back page of the chapter 8 study guide. The next thing we corrected was the chapter 12 universal gravitation worksheet. The last thing we did was we went over the chapter 11 gravitational interactions worksheet. Basically that's all we did. Oh, the teacher also assigned questions 1 - 4 (p. 160) and 1 -5 (p. 172) from the green textbook.
That's all!

Okay, so basically we had 2 tasks:
1) do the first page of the chapter 8 study guide
Get information from the green textbook.
2) work on lab
For the lab, we had to draw an ellipse and find the forces from each planet to the star (focus). Please hand it in if you didn't already. From this lab, we learned that:
Planets move fastest when closest to the sun and move slowest when farthest from the sun.
That's all!
Dont forget our project is due on May 1.

Hi everyone, since I'm taking my break right now from gaming, I decided to do today's scribe post.
The first thing we did was watched a video. The name of it was "Kepler's Three Laws".After watching that and answering the question sheet, we went over the correct answers for that.
Second, we also got our Circular Motion & Work and Energy tests. We then went over the answers with Mrs. K and made sure we had the correct answers.
Third, we went over Chapter 8 Study Guide. We went over the answers with Ms. K.
Fourth, we had a mini worksheet regarding Kepler's law.
Fifth, we got 5 sheets regarding this unit. If you need them just ask Ms. K for your own copy.
That's it, now back to some more gaming.

April 22, 2008 Tests
Hello everyone! It seems like no one wants to scribe so I'll do it today.
Today we had a test on circular motion and work and energy. It looks like the majority of the class wants a retest. That took the whole period. I wont say too much about the test because some people didn't write it yet.
Okay so after the test, Ms. k handed out the sheet for our next physics project for our new unit, Exploration of Space. We can work individually or in groups of two. Basically we choose a topic listed on the sheet, do some research, then present in class for 5 minutes (You CAN'T JUST READ YOUR PROJECT.) The presentation can be in the form of a webpage, webquest, photo album, video, powerpoint, etc. If you don't have this sheet, you can get one in class tomorrow.
This project is due on Thursday, May 1, 2008.

Today we...
had a substitute teacher! Somehow Ms. K just disappeared without a trace. We never even got a review for our test tomorrow, but c'est la vie. haha I think that's correct, don't mind my horrible french.
So what did we do? Not much. I think we all worked on some homework for a certain amount of time during the class.
We were to go over questions from the green book. They were on page 237 and we had to do questions, 1, 3, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 21, and 23. I think some of us did it, but we had no answer key to check off of and thus who's to say that we were right?
That was pretty much all that happened during our uneventful class. We have a test tomorrow so I think people should read up on centripetal force and learn how to use the formulas given in the previous post. Hopefully we'll all do well on the test. Good luck everyone!

Thursday April 17
Hello fellow physics people. No one scribed for the class on thursday so I'm taking the time to do it now. Actually it's quite a blur it was afterall, such a long time ago.
So I think we went over a few sheets like the momentum and energy one with Bronco Brown. Then we went oer the study guide about Energy and Work. Then somewhere in there I think we went over questions from the green book. They were on page 213 and we had to do questions 1, 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 17, 22, and 23.
Some equations to remember are:
Ek = (1/2)mv^2
Ep = mgh
W = fdcos(theta)
Fs = kx
That's all I think. Like I said, it's a blur.

since no one really finished their labs, we worked on it today. It took longer than expected so that was all we basically got to do.

tuesday april 15
Okay so today in class we went over the back page of the chapter 11 study guide. After, we read the last page of the booklet with all the notes. The last thing we did was a lab (Hooke's Law) which is due tomorrow.
for monday, april 14 / 08
Today (i mean yesterday) we went over the first side of the chapter 11 study guide . If you need the answers to the blank spaces, I am pretty sure anyone from class can happily help you with filling them in. We were then assigned to finish the back side of the sheet. We were also supposed to complete Energy and Work worksheet and the Momentum and Energy Worksheet. And that is about it !

Monday, April 7
On the first day back from spring break we did a lab on circular motion. We had to attach washers to the end of the string and record the amount of time it took for 30 revolutions/swings. The radius was constant at 0.8 meters and allowed us to calculate velocity. Theeenn we graphed force vs. speed and force vs. speed2. There were some questions to answer in the lab and that was basically Monday's class.
